The Executive Director will report directly to the Board of Directors and will be a salaried, full time employee of LLPC. The Executive Director shall supervise all other staff and volunteers. The Executive Director has full responsibility for the pregnancy center, which includes the implementation of the policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors within the parameters of the pregnancy center’s budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The executive director should possess a minimum of a degree in human services or health related field from an accredited institution or a minimum of five years equivalent management experience is preferred. It is preferred that the candidate has some experience in authoring grants and acquisition of grant funding or equivalent writing abilities. Previous experience in a crisis pregnancy center is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the Executive Director include but are not limited to the following:
Management
- Oversight of the ministry, evaluation of the quality of program operations and developing education and community-based programs including needs assessment, budgeting, community involvement, grant writing, marketing, development, volunteer activities, client services, public relations, educational programs, reviewing and executing contracts and educational agreements.
- To formulate new ideas and set goals to expand and/or move the ministry forward and to implement the policies approved by the Board of Directors.
- Overseeing fiscal and administrative processes within the organization in conjunction with the Treasurer of the Board of Directors including developing, implementing and monitoring the operational and capital budget, proper handling of all receipts and their acknowledgement, monitoring internal bookkeeping procedures, controlling expenses and overseeing the annual audit.
- Facilitate organizational communication and flexible problem solving.
- Serve as managing oversight for organizational language.
- Designing and coordinating strategic plans for the center with participation of the Board of Directors. The plan will be available to the Board of Directors, will be consistent with LLPC goals and objectives as determined by organization mandates, policies and procedures, and will consider strategies for Staff
- Formulate and implement day-to-day policies and procedures.
- Prepare and lead the weekly staff meetings.
- Serve as a resource for all staff members.
- Coordinate employee trainings, staff retreats, and staff retention.
- Human resource management of employees including recruiting, hiring, supervising staff, making recommendations relating to the management of compensation, interpreting personnel policies, assessing human resources needs, and conduct annual employee evaluations of each employee.
Board
- Assist the Board in setting an annual budget, monitor and approve all spending by staff, and help ensure that accurate and current financial reports are maintained.
- Oversees and reports on the organization’s results for board of directors.
- Prepare a yearly calendar and goals for the Board’s approval.
- Attend Board meetings, provide appropriate and expected reports, and be available as a resource for the Board.
- Meet at least monthly with the Chairman of the Board and/or the Executive Committee and meet with other committees of the Board as needed.
- Meet with the Board President for an Annual Review of Performance.
Public Relations & Fundraising
- To raise awareness of LLPC’s services among potential clients and potential supporters in the community, such as local churches, businesses, and other organizations, and to develop an active volunteer base and a growing financial base.
- Act as the spokesperson and representative of LLPC in the community at churches, special events, businesses, etc. to inform the community of LLPC’s services, goals, and needs in order to increase volunteer and financial support.
- Produce a quarterly newsletter.
- Plan and execute fundraisers along with the Board of Directors and staff.
Executive Director other Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements consistent inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
- Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.
- Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of site staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments.
- Supervises the development of operations-based financial modeling.
- Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management for all locations.
- Approves major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.
- Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for workers.
- Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
Delegates but oversees duties to the Development Director, Client Services, Nurse Manager, Bookkeeper and Office Assistant.
